Renovation of the chapel of a former military hospital into a luxurious restaurant
The famous restaurant of Michelin-starred chef Sergio Herman The Jane, was named the most beautiful restaurant in the world at the Restaurants & Bar Design Awards in London. This fine dining meets Rock-'n-roll vision of Sergio Herman and chef Nick Bril was developed in collaboration with Studio Piet Boon.
High-end, contemporary restaurant with international appeal
Together, they transformed the chapel of the former military hospital in Antwerp into a high-end, contemporary restaurant with international appeal. The characteristic elements of the building, such as the ceiling and the original pottery floor tiles, were preserved and combined with modern elements. Rich and pure materials were chosen for the interior design and the restaurant’s kitchen is located in the former altar. The sculptural chandelier forms the center piece and contributes to the intimate ambience of the former chapel. The satin black door handles from the ONE series add to the authentic The Jane experience.
