Villa 't gooi
Residence Bergerac: a villa with a story
This beautiful villa is situated in the Het Gooi region in the Netherlands, which includes the municipalities of Blaricum, Gooise Meren, Laren, Huizen, and Hilversum. The region is renowned for its beautiful landscape and exclusive real estate. A lot of famous people live in Het Gooi because its biggest city, Hilversum, is the ‘media city’ of the Netherlands.

Villa Bergerac
This villa exudes character and history. Designed by the architect J.H.W. Leliman, it was originally built as a summer house for the French Boissevain family in 1910. The wooded areas around the house made it ideal for horse-riding, one of the family’s favourite past-times.
The current occupant has been living here for almost fifty years and the villa has undergone at least that many renovations. Yet the style of the original architecture has always been retained. With its numerous small windows and its shape, the house exudes a feeling of safety. Whatever happens to it, the character of this villa will remain intact.

An interior is the mirror of the soul
In recent years none other than famous Dutch architect Jan des Bouvrie carried out a number of makeovers on the interior, which included the extensive use of white tones, occasionally combined with contrasting black. Various classic designs add colour in the interior design.
Luxurious facilities
Apart from the standard spaces found in most homes, this villa also features the most luxurious elements you can imagine such as an indoor swimming pool, a gym, a sauna, and a bar.
FORMANI SQUARE by Jan des Bouvrie series
In the first half of 2017 Jan des Bouvrie developed the FORMANI series of door fittings as part of the existing SQUARE collection. The occupants of the villa, always on the look-out for fun new additions and also loyal fans of the Jan des Bouvrie design studio, were the first people to have the collection used throughout their home.
The door handles were finished in satin black and polished stainless steel. Both of these colours work perfectly with the white doors and the white interior.
Although the series of door handles exudes simplicity, the production process is intense. Man and machine must work in harmony to create the perfect product: a door handle that features subtle milling lines on its neck and end.
